Strolling through the gardens of the Château de Malle offers the opportunity to discover the beautification and restoration work carried out by the team since their arrival last April.

Left in the hands of Mother Nature for several years, you wander between the construction sites and the remains of the gardens guided by the authentic 18th century land plan, preserved at the estate. Elements such as the terraces, the open-air theater and the sculptures are available to you, as witnesses to the history of the estate. However, structures such as the orchard, the vegetable garden and the labyrinth, once present, have disappeared, as have the famous embroideries abandoned since 2019.

Committed to preserving this Bordeaux jewel for the next 400 years, Luc and Clémence Planty take on the role of curators of this heritage and have engaged in a process of historical diagnosis of the gardens with a view to restoring the splendor of this remarkable garden.

Why are the gardens of the Château de Malle so famous?

The gardens of the Château de Malle enjoy a well-deserved reputation. Classified as a Historic Monument on December 2, 1943 by the Ministry of Culture, these gardens are distinguished by their authenticity and their unique style in the region. Extending over 6.5 hectares around the house, these gardens have marked their time by adopting a Renaissance approach that thus links them to the previous century.

The gardens of the Château de Malle thus stand out from the classic French gardens.
